There's quite a lineup of events in Washington DC this week. If you're going to attend one event, and you can't get Nationals tickets, then it should be... Ab-Soul at the Fillmore on Sunday. If you can't make that, then you should definitely go to... Big KRIT at the Howard on Friday.
Fortunately, you don't have to choose because neither one of those great shows conflicts with Friday's DC opening (and only) tour date for The Arab Uprisings Explained.
While I can't promise innovative, heady lyrics from some of the best young rappers in the game at the Elliott School on Friday, I can offer twelve of the top political scientists in the game talking about their contributions to our highly-anticipated, just-released edited volume. Most of the book's authors will be there. I'm frankly thrilled to be able to bring together this group of authors again for a sustained discussion about what we as a scholarly community have learned about the causes, processes, and outcomes of the Arab uprisings -- and to work through the sorry pass to which the region has arrived in their wake.
