Interesting. I imagine this person's interest in Egyptian affairs would be expected, but would not what Lynch calls his "strategic patience" toward Iraq simply reflect the setbacks Sunni Arab extremists there have suffered in the last year or so, as well as the fact that the central political issue at the moment is a struggle between Shiite factions?

This is a guess, and a guess only, but if this man is (as Lynch says here) "treading water," and directing his message about Iraq outside Iraq, it may just be because he doesn't have much to say to any Iraqis likely to listen.


Okay, so I got the questions from CTC, but where are the answers? I'm no connoisseur of Jihadi forums, so if they are available somewhere else, please tell.
