For those who care, I just recorded a short interview about the new developments in the Sunni insurgency for The World, which airs on NPR tonight in many markets - but I don't know about yours! - and will also be available on their website.

Marc~
A great post. There was a time when I believed that the American government consisted of too many intelligent people to miss such important, though by no means obvious, nuances. It's becoming increasingly obvious that such an intelligent, detailed approach is not the path to promotion in any arm of the American bureaucracy.
I guess this role is now turned over to the press, and it's up to the American people to determine who to believe.
