AA: Of course Rashed will try to downplay the significance of this. Saudi Arabia and the Gulf have invested everything with the US and the west, on the premise that "we can be friends". In reality, the concept of friendship doesn't exist in politics. On the other hand, how do you think the Saudi and the Gulf leaderships look in front of their peoples after being publicly spat at by American politicians?

It is quite disingenuous for the head of a news channel to argue that people are not interested in news.
