apropos of nothing, the going rate in Cairo is 10LE/hr ... but in Dahab it's 4LE/hr. Not sure why the difference, except perhaps the intense competition in the latter for customers?

Most places I've been in the Middle East work out to about $1 an hour. Cairo was more expensive in that comparison.


I haven't been to an internet cafe in Cairo in a long time, but I seem to remember they're cheaper. After all, internet in general (dial-up or ADSL) is pretty cheap here.

Ibn ad Dunya

Two Egyptian pounds for a half hour is the standard prize in most neighbourhoods, which would roughly be 1 USD, give or take. If you go to hotels, malls or places frequented by tourists the rate will be higher.
