Hi from Aden. I was watching the parliament on t.v yesterday and it was, well...hilarious. Without comment on the substance of the proposed supplementary budget (which is more than 40% of the regular budget), suffice it to say there was a ruckus (sp?). No one was sitting down, and as each MP would read a dorky statement from a piece of scrap paper, all those around him would be talking, shouting, sipping tea...

More substantively, there are frequently weapons in the majlis, and many - if not most - MPs and ministers come with their own tribal contingent. You might remember earlier this year that it was the PM who was threatened at gunpoint...
