So here's my live blogging of what I saw of the State of the Union Address last night:
Start: recap of the first episode: inanimate objects are talking to Jaye and telling her what to do. She thinks she might be nuts.
Credits - cool!
Open: Jaye is in the car with her dad, who I've just realized is the policeman from the much-missed Roswell. He wants her to go to her six and halfth year high school reunion (?!?). She doesn't want to. He goes to get the garbage cans. A pink flamingo tells her to get off her ass. Yes, that's right - off her ass! She rolls up the window, accidently puts the car in neutral, and ends up running over her dad. Everybody blames her.
Then ... huh? Well, duh. Did you really think I would watch the State of the Union address? Do I look like that much of a masochist? No, I'm describing the second episode of the incredible Tim Minear series Wonderfalls, which I somehow missed when it was on the air for something like three weeks. It is absolutely awesome after two shows, though I think I can understand why it didn't catch on. Of course, there does seem to be something about Fox and exceptional shows being strangled young (see: Firefly). You can check out the "Save Wonderfalls" campaign, if you want, and pick up the complete series here:
Watch the State of the Union Address.... snort. As if.
