Hi, I was just at a huge demonstartion in Damascus on thursday so I am not sure what Pollack's is on about....there were smaller demonstrations on friday around the mosques after prayer. I am sure the regime was happy to bring people into the streets (there were pictures of Bashar..), but a lot of people seemed to want to demonstrate...The anger and frustration of ordinary citizens sounded genuine to me..Fundraising for Gaza is also in full swing.
