... it can't be worse than this one!
Seriously, though, happy new year. Everyone is doing top ten lists and stuff like that, but I'm just too tired. But since I don't want 2004 blogging to end with the tsunami horrors, let me just leave you with what I have learned this year:
Sesame Street's Sing, Hoot and Howl. This 1969 classic only gets better and better. The best. And it has an "aardvark song", which makes it a highly appropriate winner of the coveted Aardvark Awards for 2004; previous winners, of course, include "Philadelphia Chickens" (2003) and "Buffy: Once More With Feeling" (2002).
The Not So Good
Wiggle Time, by the Wiggles. I tell you, Captain Feathersword just gets funnier and funnier every time. Especially after the hundredth time. "Ponies" just gets creepier and creepier. In its defense, it's a lot better than later Wiggles outings, about which I can't even bring myself to speak.
OK, that's it. It's been a great year for the blog, for my family, and for me, if not such a great year for the country or the world. But we take what we can get, thank god for what we have, and do the best we can. Enjoy what's left of your holidays, and remember: safety first!
